English Language Development Trainer – (ELD)

Duties Include

·Develop lesson plans

·Teach English grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills

·Teach pronunciation and accent reduction

·Introduce cultural aspects to ELD students, especially those who are new to the English speaking language

·Attend meetings and participate in training-related workshops

·Conduct specialized student assessments and evaluations

·Develop plans that guide appropriate instruction

·Work effectively as a member of a team, contribute to creative solutions to problems, assumes case management responsibilities and uses training and experience to support classroom instruction

·Provide direct and effective service to students, families, and colleagues providing positive regard from a wide variety of backgrounds

·Receptionist duties, i.e., answer phones, general office, data entry and clerical duties as needed

·Regular and timely attendance

·Work safely and report safety issues

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge

·B.A. / B.S. required

·Completion of CBEST

·Experience with general office procedures

·Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred 

·Knowledge of computer applications and office equipment

·Awareness of the social and economic problems facing minorities in this community

·Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and willingness to learn new skills

·Team-oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, creative and dedicated

·Must be 18 years of age and be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

·Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple work tasks and meet deadlines

·Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

·Must obtain clearance of fingerprint background check through DOJ, Valid California Driver’s License, own transportation, automobile insurance and good driving record required

Compensation

This is a full-time hourly position.

Employment Service Specialist – On the Job Training (OJT)

The OJT program provides assistance to clients with hands on training and work experience. The position will work in coordination with other Employment Service Specialists in fulfilling program placement goals. The OJT Employment Service Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Director. 

Duties Include

·Job development/placement: Contacting employers to develop job positions for enrolled clients

·Provide case management functions; file maintenance, job retention, monitoring, support and guidance

·Develop training and work experience contracts with employers

·Assess clients for supportive services and provide employment coaching

·Provide referrals and resources when necessary

·Outreach, recruitment, and orientation of new clients

·Screen clients for program eligibility determination, registration and job skills

·Provide job readiness sessions to prepare clients for interviews

·Work with outside services/partners to develop employability plan for clients

·Provide input on program evaluation and trainee progress

·Work with MIS staff for accurate data reporting

·Attend meetings and participate in training related workshops

·Worksite visits to monitor client’s progress and regulation compliance

·Regular and timely attendance

·Work safely and report safety issues

·Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge

·At least one (1) year experience with employment and vocational training programs

·At least one (1) year experience with assessment and case management

·Awareness of the social and economic problems facing minorities in this community

·Knowledge of the labor market and occupational climate in Sacramento County

·Reliable transportation; good driving record

·Experience working with employers and developing new collaborations; Knowledge of the Sacramento labor market as well as community resources preferred

·Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple work tasks and meet deadlines.

·Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

·Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and willingness to learn new skills

·Proficient in Microsoft Suites and other computer programs.

·Team oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, creative and dedicated to the formation and philosophy of thedevelopment of employment and economic development

Resource Technician

The Resource Technician provides community resources, information and assistance to clients. Working under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, s/he may also work in coordination with other staff and partners to assess client’s eligibility for services.

Duties Include

·Receptionist duties, i.e., answer phones, general office, data entry and clerical duties

·Intake and assessment; screen clients for program eligibility  

·Prepare and complete paperwork for enrollment; general file maintenance

·Assist client with translation and accessing resources  

·Provide one-on-one assistance

·Attend meetings and participate in training-related workshops

·Assist with pre-employment skills activities (resume development, job search, labor market information, etc.)

·Refer clients to Case Managers for extensive services/trainings

·Assist case management team with follow-ups and retention services

·Work with staff members for accurate data reporting

·Regular and timely attendance

·Work safely and report safety issues

·Other duties as assigned

Site Supervisor

The Site Supervisor will provide oversight to multiple programs, case management and supervision of program staff.   She/he will be expected to ensure the accuracy of all assigned programs, case files as well as all programs within the ARI Job Center (America’s Job Center). The Site Supervisor will work closely with other Program Managers in order to develop and implement activities and programs that facilitate neighborhood empowerment and improve the quality of life for the community residents.  The Site Supervisor will work under the supervision of the Deputy Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Assist and oversee all programs at the ARI Job Center (America’s Job Center)

·Provide supervision to program staff including interns at the ARI Job Center 

·Assist and oversee training workshops as well as legal service appointments

·Manage and approve Individual Training Account (ITA) funds

·Train and provide VITA assistance and Covered California enrollments

·Assess and direct clients into eligible ARI programs

·Responsible for agency case files to ensure accuracy, quality, program integrity, contract goals and contract compliance for all assigned programs

·Meet individually with each staff to provide leadership, oversight, support and direct supervision to all ARI Job Center staff

·Review & coordinate regularly with staff to identify errors and provide solutions to successfully meet program goals

·Coordinate projects/events as assigned; Responsible for the logistics and scheduling of various activities and events within the program such as toy & food holiday events, job and career fairs, and citizen workshops, etc.

·Assist with on-going data collection/evaluations to provide accurate data production of reports and documents for funders and internal purposes; Assist in the development and program implementation and evaluation techniques

·Complete all required reports, documentation and data collection in a timely manner

·Identify, coordinate, and conduct staff trainings within the program as necessary

·Work closely with existing partners and new project partners in developing new collaborative partnerships

·Work with other coordinators to identify and develop programs

·Participate in the development and assignments of component goals and objectives, as well as the component budgets

·Collaborate with Deputy Director to conduct performance management including appraisals and corrective actions as necessary

·Work closely with various programs and attend community meetings to represent the agency and its services

·Maintain a safe, professional, and confidential work environment and report safety issues

·Regular and timely attendance; Working flexible hours that will include occasional weekends and evenings.

·Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Knowledge

·At least 1 year of working knowledge of a Sacramento Works Job Center or a America’s Job Center is required;

·Knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

·Experience in employment services or vocational training of government funded programs;

·Management and supervision of  employment service staff;

·A working knowledge of local community resources; Experience working with employers and developing new collaborations

·Strong verbal, written, communication and leadership skills;

·Ability to handle adversity and crisis in an efficient manner and attention to details under stressful situations while maintaining a professionalism

·Must be self-motivated, flexible, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and meet deadline

·Strong problem solving skills

·Comfort working with people from diverse background

·Valid California Drivers License, own transportation, automobile insurance and good driving record require

·Bilingual/Multilingual skills preferred. Lao, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Russian, Bosnian, Ukrainian, Pashto, Syrian a plus.
